The hotel, an old palacio, was gorgeous, in lovely grounds. The rooms were decorated with frescoes and old furniture matching the style of the palace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast had many great options to chose from (or have it all!). The tasting menu dinner was delicious and an evening drink on the terrace watching the sun go down was beautiful. There is a path opposite the hotel that shortcuts the hill walk up to Pena Palace or Moorish Castle. It is fairly rough but fine for those who are steady on their feet. Not far from Regaleira palace and Sintra town either.

really beautiful city. if you have time, you can spend up to 5 days with enough interesting sightseeing to visit. the traffic is heavy so I recommend to take buses or walking because uber/bolts can take too long to arrive where you are.
the best was a hiking from Sinta Palace to the historical center, really nice views

Sintra is a very pleasant city with a small but bustling old town. Restaurants are very good for the money. Parking would be a nightmare so don't drive in for the day. (our hotel had parking) Pena Palace was beautiful, then was dow to the Moorish Castle. but in my opinion, the crown jewel was Quinta Regliera. Make sure to get tickets online in advance!

Sintra is a beautiful town.
Sintra is a beautiful town. There are many places to see, but so many other tourists it is hard so some attractions. If you want to go to attractions you need to purchase tickets ahead of time and make sure you have reliable transportation to the attractions. Allow ample time to get to where you are going b/c traffic to the tourist sights are usually jammed with traffic.
Lots of places to eat and shop.

Historical part of Sintra certainly deserves a visit when you are in the area. In my opinion one full day will do to see visit the park and some of the palaces. You would start early so a stay overnight might be more convenient for some.Tickets are easily booked online and I purchased an audio tour to listen to on my phone. There are are tuktuk or taxi drivers around that can bring you to the entrance of the park from where you can walk to the Palace de Pena and other sites. There are several entrances. Instead going to the busy main entrance I took a tuktuk to the entrance of the Valley of the Lakes, a 45 min. walk away from Palace de Pena. It a beautiful and quiet part of the park and I took a detour to see the chalet and garden of the Countess of Edla, which I loved even more than the palace itself.
Visiting the palace involved long waits in line and walking in files through the rooms. Not my thing. The park is huge with a diversity in plants and trees, it has a camelea and a fern garden, just nice to wonder around for a few hours. Bring snacks and drinks if you want to avoid the waiting line for the cafeteria at the palace.

Lots of walking.
Lots of walking. Ideally 3-4 days to hit everything comfortably. Old Town is closed to motor traffic so rideshare, taxis, and public transportaion are your best bet. Rideshare works to the sites well but can often be a problem getting back
This is the oldest hotel in Iberia and full of character. The facilities at the Lawrence hotel are for those who truly want to experience the romantic old style upper class life of Sintra. Although the attached facilities are humble one has a room with the best view, central with walking distance to all family historic palaces. At the Lawrence try the lime risotto with sea bass with Colares wine for an awesome experience. The dinning room has a warm night view over the mountains and old houses.
The facility is wonderful, attractive, ideally located, plenty of outdoor spaces to relax. The breakfast offerings are tasty and varied. They have a well stocked espresso machine, and offer great selections of wine and beer.
Rui the manager is amazingly attentive and professional. He speaks perfect English and is happy to make dinner reservations or offer recommendations on how best to enjoy all Sintra has to offer.
I highly recommend Hotel Nova Sintra.
Room was airy, well- ventilated, and one could open the balcony door for fresh air. Lovely, quiet, view. Bed and bathroom linen were very good. Furniture met all requirements- closet space, room for suitcases, spacious beside tables, mirrors, extra chair etc. Breakfast was excellent quality and the best we had among 4 hotels we stayed at in Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto and Sintra. Staff were very helpful, courteous, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
Very helpful staff. I was under the weather when I was there and the hotel personnel gave me the help I needed. The hotel is around 15mins drive to Sintra and close to beach Maças where you can enjoy sea view and food.
The hotel offers different kind of events in the public area as well. It’s a very nice idea, but sure sometimes it comes with noise. But in general, it was a comfortable stay.
This was a gem of a stay for me and my family. The boutique homes were so well decorated and had an amazingly warm and comfortable feel to it. The hosts Marco and Christina are one of the most humble people who just made us feel like family. They even made lovely breakfast for us and went out of their way to ensure that we had one of our most memorable experiences in Portugal.
Lovely room, lovely home, lovely owners and very accommodating.
Parking was extremely easy and safe as well. Excellent location a few minutes from the beach and in the gorgeous coastal forest area in the surrounds. And after traveling for a number of years, this would be a region I would love to return to and explore more. One of the most charming areas of Portugal.
This was a gorgeous hotel from top to bottom. I loved the size of our room and the quality of the linens. I absolutely fell in love with the mohair blanket. The decor was amazing and the heated pool was a nice touch. I can not say enough nice thing about this hotel. I will be looking into all the Key boutique hotels in the future.
This was a lovely boutique hotel in a great location in Sintra, the room was spacious, well furnished and it had a great view of the valley of the fox. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave some great recommendations. This place had a charm to it, very unique. It was a really enjoyable two night stay!
A most unique, boutique hotel. Conveniently located across from the Sintra train station. Full breakfast was served in its cafe on the ground floor. The host & hostess were lovely people; friendly, helpful, accommodating. A great value for a very reasonable price.
Lovely boutique hotel, helpful reception, nice room had all our needs. Surprised, location, so close to many fantastic, wonderful historical sites, train station by taxi so convenient. Mario Tuk very helpful, fun tuk tuk ride to Peña Palace with commentary.
Our hostesses were very hospitable and gave very clear indications of what to do and where to eat. The room was just what we needed and very clean. The interior in the common rooms made us feel like we were in a boutique hotel and the breakfast was sublime.
The location was great and the hotel was beautiful. My favorite part was the staff. They were so thoughtful and made my bad trip to Portugal way better. I was not enjoying Portuguese food and they had great recommendations. The breakfast was great.
Excellent boutique hotel in a great location. The rooms have an amazing view of Sintra, are good sized and beautifully appointed. The breakfast is very good and the staff/owner are extremely nice and helpful.
Important : we've been upgraded to another hotel of the same owner, the Sintra Boutique hotel. This is a review for Sintra Boutique hotel but I guess the same stadards about cleanliness, staff are the same
Good location, next to the Cabo da Roca, the Most Western Point of Europe, on the coast of Atlantic Ocean.
November holiday and road trip in Portugal, 1 night stay in this hotel was a great relax. 👍
An excellent hotel. Great attention to detail, staff are extremely attentive and charming. Food was some of the best food we ate on our two week holiday across Portugal. Highly recommend.
Breakfast was not so good as the other hotels that we stay in Portugal. The room was smelling like mold. All our clothes smell like that after staying there. I wouldn’t stay there again
